This was first published as a social media post - but it’s been much more than that - it’s been a guiding principle and orientation checklist for my life.
In fact, my whole life transformed when I began to look at my people, my self, my relationships, the world through a lens of care - vs. the default collective lens of control.
This is a short, transformative guide to a different, more restful, more creative, way of being and relating.
Enough people reached out after this was posted asking me to make it into something sharable, so here it is!
Share away! I hope you find it helpful. <3
PS This is a PDF file that combines 2 different file sizes - the usual 8.5×11 and a phone format - this way you can read it on either a phone or a desktop - just keep scrolling till you get to the right format!

Here is the EXACT PLAN I shared with my son's teachers this year - and I've been told OVER and OVER how amazing and helpful it has been! I hope you will use it as a template, guide, inspiration, etc. to create your own.

An easy exercise to practice with kids (and adults!) to help habituate a more skillful way of navigating feelings and hard circumstances.
This exercise also teaches the skill of questioning (instead of blindly assuming truth around) our thoughts and beliefs. Lastly, it emphasizes that we do have choice, and in doing so reconnects us to agency.
With just this ONE exercise in their toolbox, your kids will be light years ahead of most adults in terms of emotional maturity and cognitive management skills.
